Don't touch!

Ice Tits.

Sounds like something one would enjoy on a hot day.

"Hey, who wants an Ice Tit?  I have blueberry and banana."

Having gathered more information, i decided to go ahead and get the biopsy done.  My doctor seemed all for it, but of course, that would be her view.

I liked the (woman) radiologist  who did the procedure MUCH more than the (man) radiologist who did the original ultrasound.  She explained it all very carefully and told me WHY she felt it needed to be done.  Actual information, what a concept.

My left tit was numbed with some Novocaine mixture, a tiny incision made, and a small bore tube shoved in, guided by the image on the ultrasound. Then a smaller needle was inserted through the tube to shoot out 5 times and get samples.  Sounded kind of like a staple gun.

She showed me the samples afterward.  Looked like little white bits of fat floating in a tiny jar.  (Maybe next time they could biopsy my thighs and get some of the fat out there.)

Now i am sitting here with an ice pack on my tit.  Good thing it's 90 degrees outside.  I get the results tomorrow.  Oddly i don't feel worried at all.  The lady radiologist was most reassuring, saying it looked like a blah blah blah thingie.

But really, it's a lose/lose situation for the medical industry.  I will be pissed if it turns out to be nothing, and i will be pissed if it turns out to be something.

I am nothing if not contrary.

Hoping you end up pissed for nothing.

No point in worrying until you get some results. Hopefully the relief of a negative result will surprise you and overtake your annoyance at the unnecessary procedure.

I'm so glad that you got information that you found useful. My experience has been that the staff expects me to be all freaked out (given that every female blood-relative I have has had breast cancer) and they start out in third gear.

Please let us know the results. We're doing the worrying.

Yeah; my vote is that you be pissed because it's nothing. Do keep us informed, please; I'll be vibing for you...

A small bore tube, a needle, a staple gun. Youch! Glad I'm one of the titless folk.

I also hope you're pissed for nothing. Fingers firmly crossed.

Here's hoping for much ado about nothing.

Staple gun makes it sound so DIY.

Just think how the medical profession would suffer if there was a take home heart surgery, appendectomy, or mammogram via microwave oven kit.

Keeping my fingers crossed for "pissed when it turns out to be nothing."

why we talk about procedures:

a)they are out of the norm. If they're not, they should be.

b)if we involve other people, maybe it won't feel as scary

c)street cred

I was imagining a goth nurse with black lipstick and tats and long thick lines of eyeliner and black nailpolish holding up a needle. Gave me a bit of a shudder.

But I'd say right now, you've got a good chunk of street cred.

Let us know which side of contrary you land.

okay this is funny, because we were playing pictionary at bible camp and the word was "ice chest". So the man drew a block of ice and a pair of boobs...and my mother yelled out "ICE TITS!!!" i never thought I would see that configuration of words, ever again.

I vote for you being pissed the hell off over absolutely nothing. You hear me, universe?

I'm glad you had the biopsy - I'd rather you be pissed and lumpy than pissed and cancerous.

fingers crossed.

I will add my voice to the choir, I hope you are pissed that it was nothing.

But you didn't get a little metal marker implanted? I told them it should be like charm bracelets and you get to pick from various designs....

Here's to a happy boob ending. Fingers crossed and good vibes floating your way.

I actually really appreciate the description of the biopsy -- it's sounds not too painful and very doable. Now if I ever need one, I'll be much more at ease because I have information! It's a good thing!

This kind of cracks me up (I know, so rude, right?) but when people refer to their breasts as "tits," it kind of freaks me out. It sounds so dirty to me, given my experience with the word, I guess. I've always felt that women who could say "tit" were so powerful and tough, like, "Wow. You can talk so casually about your sexual part like that?!" I should be writing this in a post, shouldn't I? Well, I thank you for the forum. (and have already commented sincerely elsewhere on the biopsy business, haha)
