The week in review

Saturday: I sprain my ankle playing squash. It hurts, but the colors are pretty. I try to keep it in perspective by remembering that it's not liver cancer (which a friend of mine has, so i should just shut the hell up.) I am grumpy.

Sunday: I wash my face with hair conditioner. The good news is that my face is tangle free, but my hair is not. Frequent applications of ice to my ankle help reduce the swelling.

Monday: I complete my first load of laundry at the new place. Already, a sock is missing, i kid you not.

Tuesday: The Roomb@ shows up! All of us, including the cat, watch in fascination as it navigates around the house and vacuums up cat and meno hair.

Wednesday: The Mister takes the day off to relax and then spends the entire time watching worker bee dudes fuck around with the lighting and security system. The Mister is grumpy.

Thursday: Thanksgiving with the family. My brother and i fuck up the gravy, but my sister, dragged in for a consultation, manages to rescue it with the liberal addition of sherry. The Mister drinks too much and Em is sick and grumpy. She has to go to work at midnight so we leave early.

Friday: The Mister falls down the stairs whilst carrying a nightstand. We spend 3 hours in the emergency room mostly waiting. He gets his chin glued shut and three stitches in his lip. His face looks like he came in third in an axe battle. He is grumpy.

"My face is tangle free, but my hair is not" I love it. Oh dear, an awful lot of grumpiness. Methinks you need more of the sherry. And the missing sock's probably under the settee, that's where most things turn up.

On the upside, next week can only get better:)

Do you miss your view of the lake?

I guess The Mister is safer at work than taking holidays off. Isn't moving fun? It seems that every time I've done it I've said it would be the last. But I've stopped saying that. And the name of the commenter two above me is right on. Watch out for what that Roomba eats. It is especially out for things that it might find under beds. If you want to see some interesting maneuvering, get and operate two of them in the same household.

Breathe*)
At least you didn't use the sunscreen for toothpaste.
It could be worse?
This too shall pass?
Sorry you've had such a challenging week.

suebob, yeah, some party. :(

scott, careful, you might be invited to the next party we decide to host. Be afraid!

steph, i hope so too.

flutter, i guess so. I am still grumpy too.

nick, *goes off to look under the couch* Nope. Good guess though.

deb, i have hope for this week. We still have a lake view, only of a different lake.

sox eater, Well, i did take a picture of my foot, but i don't think The Mister would appreciate my taking a picture of his face. He's touchy like that.

marsha, yeah, what next? Locusts?

dick, right now i wish he'd stay at work.

luckyzmom, i could have used Ben Gay for toothpaste!

I spent 1 & 1/2 hours in the ER having a MAJOR heart attack and if I hadn't been able to muster the power for a most scathing wise crack.....I'd (well, my skeleton) may still be there.

Oh dear. Why must holidays be such a trial? Wondering if we'd be better off without them...

jeez, sounds like you need a nice, stiff drink! I hope this week is much better for y'all.

moving sucks.

should I buy a roomba?

Nancy Dancehall said...

I'll trade you your missing sock for the Roomb@.

Yeah, I didn't think that would work.

Oh, honey, I wish you were kidding, too.

I hope everyone feels much better really soon. Maybe you could try pouring sherry on your ankle and if that doesn't work, use it as a hair conditioner.

Ooh, I think I need one of those!

And by those, I mean Tuesday.

I hope everyone's a bit less grumpy, and a bit less colorful, and a bit less sick.

tor, ok, you win! There's no place like the ER to feel like you could die and no one would notice for days.

top cow, i would vote for that in a heartbeat.

holly, several drinks have been tried.

de, go read the reviews on Amazon. They'll help you decide.

nancy, ha! nice try woman.

hearts, well, Em is back at school, so that helps.

sari, it's pretty fun to set it off while i'm not home, and the come home and see what it's gotten!
