Life in a bubble

I've been existing in a sort of bubble of unreality for the past month or so.

Moving.
The "Holidays." (Used an excuse for practically anything and everything. Depressed? It's the "Holidays." Too busy? It's the "Holidays." Happy? Lazy? Eating too much or too little? Yep, must be those pesky "Holidays." Kind of like the whole nation gets its' period. (Oops, sorry, got carried away. End rant))
The Mister being on vacation.
Em home from school.
Off to the ocean for a few days.

I have been reluctant to come out of this bubble, as there is work associated with reality that i would prefer to ignore.

While in the bubble, if we get hungry, Hey! No problem, off to a restaurant. In reality, the credit card bills for eating every meal out are nasty. So, back to meal planning and shopping.

In the bubble, the computer is used for playing yet another game of Chainz. In reality, i must answer e-mails and pay bills and converse with lawyers and insurance companies.

In the bubble, moving into a new home meant that i could avoid housework because everything was so clean to start with. In reality, the dust bunnies are raising their grandchildren right out in the open. So, i must find the vacuum cleaner and USE it.

In the bubble, all the eating and drinking has no consequences. In reality, it, um, does. So, back to moderation.

personally, I like bubbles. they provide very nice insulation. I could use a good bubble myself, right now. care to share yours?

I know the feeling. Jenny and I have been living in an especially long bubble this Xmas as the snow and ice have been phenomenal, forcing everyone to "work" (ha ha) at home and ignore the office for a few more days.

Can't you just tell the dustbunnies to go back in their burrows where you can't see them?

I like your bubble.
What you really need to do, is get the whole world in there and then we can all forget about all that annoying stuff called reality. I'm in.

Conversing with lawyers and insurance companies after post-move euphoria is the equivalent of having post-coital bliss shattered by remembering you have to take the trash out NOW, because you can hear the garbage truck two houses away. totally erases that just fucked glow.

Welcome home.

Welcome back! I know what you mean about the bills for eating out. As old retired folks we do it probably more than we should. For the last two years in a row our eating out budget was higher than anything else in the mix other than income tax. I can't do much about reducing income tax but guess we could reduce the eating out one. Na, we enjoy it and it does reduce the food budget for money spent in the grocery store so there is some good there, too.

Moderation is a good thing, in moderation of course. You may have to pop this bubble but there will always be another to come floating along.

I get this. I'm blaming it on the holidays and the sub normal cold temperatures keeping me inside it.

It's good to see you back. I was beginning to fear that the polar ice cap in your last post had carried you out to sea. Happy New Year, Meno!
