Today's Housekeeping Tip

Get a cat. Compassion alone prevents me from having to make the bed.

Oh that just makes me want to hop into that picture, curl up next to your feline friend and rub some soft fur and listen to the little engine pur. I miss my kitties. *sigh*

Looks like a fabulous idea- I'm gonna go take a nap now!

No. They scare me. They try to sit on your face while you are sleeping and suffocate you. I dated a guy with two cats and they were pissed that I was taking up their space in the bed. So they'd plop there anyway, and I had a choice of moving into a comfortable position and squishing his cats or lying there, wide awake, wishing that huge, fat tabby would go look for a mouse or something. (Oh, and then once I did fall asleep, they did go look for a mouse which involved much noise and woke me up.) Cats. Shudder.......

I'm envious, meno. Dirty Girl and I were evicted from a cozy location like this one at seven A.M. this morning. All because Dirty Girl wasn't considerate enough to "deposit" her hairball in an appropriate surface like tile floor. Sheeesh...teenagers.

I'm a mean, cold-hearted bitch when it comes to making beds. I better hide this photo from my own felines, lest they think of running away to a better place.

what is it about them that has us wrapped around their little claws? I always feel so guilty disturbing my kitties when they are laying on the laundry baskets, the bed, anywhere. unfortunately for the people who reside with me, I don't feel near as guilty disturbing them...

I wish I could blame our cats for the other undone household chores.....

maggie, he looks so happy doesn't he? He would welcome your company and purr for you.

toni, napping is always a good idea.

amusing, sounds like a rude kitty. One little kick will send them flying. Try that a few times and they get the idea.

patches, that is rude. You try training these kids and they just ignore you! Hmmpph!

cagey, but look how CUTE he is. He's smiling. How could you?

holly, i don't know, but it's probably the big eyes and the soft fur. And the cuddles.

bob, i've tried to train them to sleep on the vacuum cleaner or the dirty dishes, but no luck. :(

God bless 'em, the little stinkers ARE good for something!

I just heard that you should not make your bed because the bed bugs like to grow in the warm madeup bed.

I never make my bed anyway, but an excuse is an excuse (except...it's too dry here so there are no bedbugs, but I won't tell!) :-)

wow that's a nice bed. you've got the fancy just for pretty pillows 'n' everything!

princess, other than eating and puking you mean?

sari, i live for reasons to be lazy. Thank you.

esereth, we just went and bought fancy bedding. But the best part is still having kitties. I'm a cat sucker. Mew!

I'm smart...I leave the house before hubby so HE makes every morning...after he kicks the dog off the bed.

Can't tell you how many times a scene like this has helped me into less housework. And that is a GORGEOUS outfit you got for your bed!

That is the most beautiful unmade bed I've ever seen. Those linens are to die. How do you ever manage to get up?

Very pretty duvet!! And even prettier kittycat.

I use that excuse not to make the bed all the time! And if they're not there, I call them and they come and jump on the bed anyway!
Don't they look adorable when sleeping?! Not the same creatures at all who just used your antique couch as a scratching post!

lynn, that IS smart. I am always the last one here in the morning so i have to play the cat card.

liv, that's one of the many fine reasons to have cats!

lisa, i spend lots of time there. The bed is where my laptop and i spend many hours of quality time together.

josephine, they go well together. I bought the bedding to match the cat.

moi, Sleeping on unmade beds is one of the few things cats can be cooperative about.

Heh. I've got that goin' on at Chez Chili, too. I've gotta tell ya - I'm jealous of the little bastards, all curled up, warm and purring in the sunshine, while I have to get dressed and brave sub-zero temps with dangerous wind-chills. I've got nothing on the docket for tomorrow; I may just make it a pajama day!
