Rejoining

Look, i CAN take a cheery picture!

Enough skulking around in the clouds, time to rejoin the world.

The fog is lifting and my fears are easing. Being an introvert, i cannot write when i am worried. Worrying is a full time job you know.

Whining to the interwebs is a mixed bag.

For one thing, it's stupid and self-indulgent. The truth is, i really have nothing to whine about. And i always feel ashamed after i do it.

But the other thing, it's really sweet to receive your understanding and gentle comments and e-mails, letting me know that you get it, and you've been there.

Made it through my mother's birthday party. I am a bit chagrined to report that it was fun. My family is actually pretty cool. I just avoid talking to my mother as much as possible, and it all works out fine. Everyone was happy and chatty, plus the grandkids (my nieces and nephews) are such a pleasure. They are growing up.

My aunt was there, the one who is SO DIFFERENT from my mother. To her, everything is WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL and THE BEST EVER. It's not an attitude i can sustain, but every few years i can handle it. Plus we get to make gentle fun of her later.

The Mister took a bunch of really nice pictures at the event, which made all the old folks happy, once they figured out how to use the link we sent out in e-mail.

That's one GREAT picture you have there. You do take pretty pictures Meno; and believe it or not, you do know how to frame the shot.

Whining is a part of life. We need to whine, to be heard. Most importantly, whining can keep us sane :)

That's a great picture and is hopefully reflective of your mood to come. I'm also glad your social event wasn't a total disaster. Ugh! :)

You survived. Wonderful!

I'm the opposite, I write much more when life sucks the big one.

it's funny how, when we think about all the things we have to be grateful for, we can still feel so down and out.

just know you're not alone, friend. many of us love ya...lots!!

I wonder if If will adapt as poorly to technology as my mother has? I don't think technology is better, but it doesn't require an over-priced stamp or a tediously painful wait at the post office.

Yellow flowers have a way of just making one smile eh?

It's okay to own your feelings. You don't have to apologize for being yourself.

I'm glad you feel better.

I think you've got loads of mental health, it's up and down. The point of reading is to understand humanity, What drives us, how do we react, what is the outcome. Pith is wonderful, joy is great, being anxious is human. I hope you will share that as often as you feel it and it's not hurtful to write about it.

When I first began blogging, I used it as a space to gripe. and snark. A lot. Now? I call it my happy place. And I like my space so much better. I am not so hesitant to give the link to folks, for example.

Glad you are back. Heh.

I'm glad you survived it. I go trough the same thing with my mom. She can be horrible, so I find myself dreading time with her, and often find myself pleasantly surprised because she's not ALWAYS horrible.

Of course, that's a double-edged sword, because sometimes I feel warm and fuzzy after a good experience and find myself vulnerable to attack.

Gentle fun, hee hee. I've been there. ;-)

A good time? Cool family. Huh. Go figure.

We had a Memorial Day picnic with the fam that just left me shaking my head, thinking, What a bunch of weirdos.

Good to know your fears are easing. Looking forward to a time when you are all settled again.

So glad to know the dreaded occasion had its redeeming social value. I always feel ashamed when I whine, too, but think we should both cut ourselves breaks.

Those happy yellow flowers are most joy-inducing.

I don't think I have ever read anything of yours that could be labeled whining - you're far too funny and wonderfully sarcastic for it to sound whiny

I know a bit of wishing to vanish. Remember the show Soap? When Bert thought he could become invisible - I do that at times. I am an endless source of amusement (and annoyance) for myself

Your photo is beautiful - and so are you.

Meno! I've missed you. Although I'll be honest. I didn't really know you hadn't been on in awhile because I've been neglecting my blogging and blog-checking duties too. But I'm trying again. I'm glad to hear things are better for you.

I love it when the ebb starts to flow again. It always seems to eventually. I usually post something already written or on old poem when I need a break to feel crappy or whine. Welcome back.

One person's weeds are another's flower. I often have a hard time telling the difference. Needless to say, I don't do a lot of weeding about the garden, at least not without guidance.

As to the photos for non computer literate relatives, maybe you could make up a self starting DVD they could just put into their DVD player. Then you can get creative and add your choice of music for a background!

Buttercups are wonderful! So are you.

Gorgeous. Both you and the flowers.

Isn't it fun making fun of blood relatives? Like fish in a barrel, I tell ya.

I think I'll be blogging again soon.

Yea! Nice kick-off to the summer. Now how about using that photo in a new header? (or maybe the purple foot?) That might be just what you need to put you in a summery mood :)
