It's all over but the partyin'

This is graduation weekend at House Wobegon. There is the Senior Lunch, the Senior Party, the Graduation Ceremony, the Senior Reception and the Senior Breakfast. (I swear i am not exaggerating.)

I can't wait until it's all over. Yeesh!

On the other hand, my child is giddy with relief and happiness.

The Mister and i were foolish enough to volunteer to chaperone the Senior Party, which is an all night affair beginning after the Graduation and Reception and lasting until 5:30 am Monday morning.

What were we thinking? I am viewing it as one last gift for my daughter, because i can think of few greater hells than to be bussed from location to location with 62 screaming new high school graduates.

I hope i survive. Think of me as you snuggle into your warm toasty beds wearing your footie pajamas on Sunday night.

See you on the other side.

I am holding your hand in petrified solidarity.

I will think of you - and congratulations to your kiddo. Hey, at least you know where she'll be... if she were out on her own you'd probably lose the same amount of sleep anyway.

Hang in there -

You get a special comfy chair in heaven for that one.

Wishing Em a bright and beautiful future.

You won't be sorry, unless you run into a problem like ours. My husband and I volunteered to help at our sons senior overnighter in 1989. We were there for a couple of hours before we realized we were at the wrong schools overnighter. So embarrassing.

We will be attending a graduation party for our friends daughter tomorrow.

Well, for one, look forward to the resulting post! I'm sure there will be some exciting drama going on! You are sweet to do that for your daughter. Congrats on getting her through :)

P.S. Don't wear a skirt! It can be very emBARE-ASSing!!

I'll think of you, but there won't be any footie pajamas at Chez Chili on Sunday night - they're talking 93 degree days with mid-70 nights and a near 100% chance of thunderstorms because of the humidity. We'll likely be sleeping in just our skin for the foreseeable future...

Congratulations to your daughter graduating! And kudos to you for chaperoning the party. Don't forget your earplugs.

I hope you get a restful Monday afterwards...

ALL night? You really are masochistic, aren't you? ;-)

Naw, just pretend you're starring in a movie. One of those 'surviving the apocalypse' ones.

It sounds like a torturous hell. No matter what decisions you make at that party, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Um, Congrats to to the mini-meno though!

My neice graduated this year too, I was in highschool when my sister had her. My sister is now trying to keep her at home (Can you say major bribery?) since she will not be attending an out of state school. My mom is betting 10 to one she shacks up with some loser for awhile. sh's a good girl I wish her luck in whatever she does.

Did you make it through the all nighter?

Congratulations to Em! I can't believe you are pulling an all-nighter. I wasn't even able to do that in college!

What Franki said! Brave, brave woman.

It all went by so fast, didn't it. Mine's graduate from college a whole year now! sniff.

Congrats Em!

Did mom make it? Inquiring minds want to know.

I love it when cynical ole Meno gets to do this stuff.

You are golden! So, what next?

5:30?! Omg. I would need lots of coffee (or crack) to stay up that late. Try as I might, I can never make it past 3:30. There's like an automatic off switch in my head or something.

Yikes. And congrats.

are you still alive?!

I hope you took pictures and are willing to explain them like your Japan trip. 62 students seems like a small number. Does she attend an all girls school?

Good point about the posting of other people's kids. You're more thoughtful than me.

It was 1996. Our daughter graduated in 1989 and we went no where near that overnighter.
