Olio

Thank you all for your comments on my last post. It really made me think. For now, i will keep it and wear it, but when the right time comes to give it up, a la a really lovely suggestion from a self-proclaimed brilliant yet vulgar curmudgeon jerk geek (i may be paraphrasing a bit,) i will do so without any hesitation.

Dear Diary,

I woke up this morning at 3am. I did not go back to sleep. My eyes are burning with the tired. I must sleep tonight so that i can get up in the morning and kick my squash partner's ass. Thank you,

-meno

Ms. Chica and her spouse are in town. This morning they arrived at my house and allowed me to take them on a bit of a hike. The weather is GLORIOUS and we had a lovely time. It was very sweet to see Ms. Chica again, i wish she lived closer, and Mr. Hombre was very congenial and easy to chat with. You know how some people say things so that you will know how important they are in the world? He did not do one bit of that. The sign of a secure person, and somewhat rare.

I forgot my damned camera, so alas, no pictures. Suffice it to say that the view from the top was sensational.

Plus Ms. Chica brought me cookies that she made her own self and carried on the plane with her. I told you it was sweet to see her again, i meant it literally.

There are few things better than a day outdoors with good friends who bring cookies.

Aren't friends grand?

Ahh, cookies and day hikes. The only trouble is that if you eat many of the cookies you will have to do more and longer day hikes to work them off. But for chocolate chip cookies with good friends, it would be well worth it. Enjoy!

And I dreamt last night about looking at pictures of hiking and someone saying "and guess who that is" which I guessed was you -- but there were other people in the snap.

Odd, isn't it. Bloggers have been creeping into my dreams of late. I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing....

Stucco's comment made me laugh!!

I was wondering where Ms. Chica was off to, now I know. And with cookies, gosh it couldn't be better, could it?? Have a great time!

squash huh? I used to play raquetball before my @#$%# ankles made me give it up.

what goes best with cookies? bourbon & coke.

I just don't know what to say. I feel so all alone. Left alone in the middle of the state with nothing but boxes and a sick baby and no cookies and paper plates. (Does that sound pitiful er what?)

I love the diary entry. Tell me do you always sound like SeƱor Wences in your diary entries?

That Ms. Chica gets around. Didn't I read she just visited Liv? I think it's fantastic. Can't wait to have some free time to start traveling again. I'll get there. The hike sounds lovely. So does your jewelry from the other post. (By the way, you're worth it. I'm sure everyone else said that, too, but I'm too tired to read.)

I read your entire post and all I want to know is whether or not Ms. Chica is still in town? It would be really cool to meet you and her.

egan said...

Pssstt, I love the ME too. link in the right margin. Good on you for putting this on your site.

ms. chica sure does get around - not as much as patches, but close....

Didn't Ms. Chica bring one either! What a pair you are! I assume that as techy blogging types neither of you had one of those snazzy phones that take pictures either? What century are we in?
Glad you had a good time.
Cheers

I tried desperately to leave a comment on that last post where I said (very wittily, I might add, but I'm past that now and it is forever lost, my wittiness) to send the damn rock to me. Alas, I was thwarted by the Internets-That-Be. I could swear here but I won't.

Screw you and that Chica, having fun together. I don't have fun and no one else should either. F-ing fun people. Oh sh-t, I swore.

Ah, cookies...the universal language that all can read!

(Those pictogram/icons for male/female washrooms are so ambiguous sometimes, I have debated many times which one I should enter....heck, I'm usually wearing pants!)

P.S.
Check the cookies for shrimp before you eat them..... she may not have fully recovered from Liv's yet...

dick, i should get a T-shirt that says "Will exercise for cookies"

amusing, i would love to go hiking with you. It is odd how we know people that we've never met. I like it.

sari, stucco is a funny guy. But looks aren't everything.

bob, i wonder how long my knees will hold out. But i love to play, it's hard work, and way more fun than exercise.

liv, we talked about you. Does that make you feel better?

u-u, i had fun googling that name. I hadn't recalled who it was, but now i do.

mamap, yeahm she's nothin' but a rolling stone.

egan, i don't exactly know how long she's here, but i live here, and i would even travel downtown to have lunch with you sometime. I'm glad you like my new button. It's something that i feel strongly about.

qt, yeah, that patches is a real whore.

mcewen, she did have a camera, and perhaps she will post some pictures when she gets home. I hope so.

crazymumma, neither of us is big on putting pictures of ourselves on our blogs. You can just picture me as incredibly beautiful. That will do.

capacious, 'Tisn't a rock, 'Tis many rocks. :) You are feeling peevish, i hope it has passed, even though it's funny.

moi, the language of love is good food. I know what you mean about the bathroom signs.

amusing, shrimp cookies? That sounds loathsome. But you are right, she might.

maggie, we did. :)

melanie, i'm sorry to hear that. I am not very good at sleeping, i wish i were.
