I can completely understand this. My kids drive me crazy, but I miss them so much when I'm away from them. I still creep in to their room (they share a room) every night to make sure they are breathing and nothing is quietly on fire. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. My kids are nine and seven & a half. What will I do when they move out?
My Mandy is living at home doing the first two years of college at a local community college. We had lunch together this afternoon. I am so glad she is here. But, next year when she leaves it will be very hard. Her current plan is to go to a college that is only a couple of hours from home, yeah!
Is Em planning to move back to your area after college?

This place is Em-proof? (or are you secretly trying to tell her???)
I'll never tell (that the first thing I thought/said when I read this was awwwww).
I quite understand. And did you feel better for it?
I've been hugely missing my youngest the last few days. Maybe it's a virus that's going around.
Heh. I'm still in the throes of teenager-hood, so I'm feeling right now like I'd LIKE to miss my daughter, at least for a little while.
And yeah; your secret's totally safe on the internet....
When my parents are in Florida, Tony and I use their bed, because the kids and babysitter are at our house.
Not the same thing, I guess.
Also, I'm not sure who has been feeding what to my kids, but every morning when they get up, I am compelled to open the windows to let the stink out.
Sorry she wasn't there with you. Maybe she'll send you a care package?
H B-D!

Having worn the Better Half's shirts in his absence, I think I understand. Not the same thing, but related.
bob, not Em proof, but i don't care if she knows.
nick, a little.
luckyzmom, maybe they should all just come back home and stop all this gallivanting around without us.
mrs. chili, oh yeah, i absolutely know that feeling too.
de, thank you! :) i'm the care package sender around here.
peevish, i miss the sneaking in and and watching her safely sleep. When they move out you will be sad AND relieved. It's a mixed bag.
marsha, i don't know if Em will be moving back here after college. For her sake i sorta hope note, but for my sake i sorta hope so.
gone, it's EXACTLY the same thing. I like that.
Hmm, I think you might just have admitted that! Sweet though.
Seriously, I cry like a baby every school year. I can't imagine my kids not living with me.
